The costs of private adoption can vary according to each situation.

The following expenses will apply in most situations:

• Attorney fee for adoptive family

• Attorney fee for biological parent(s)

• Social Worker fee for home study and post placement visit by the Social Worker

• Media Placement

• Preparation of adoption profile (website and/or print)

The following additional expenses may apply in some situations:

• Expectant Parent's living expenses

• Expectant Parent's medical or counseling expenses

• Travel expenses if child born outside New York
